Position Summary
Level II NDT Inspector
Responsibilities & Duties
- Ability to be certified with ASNT as a Level II Inspector
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a relatable field conducting NDT inspections
- Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications, codes, standards and other contractual documents that control the method utilized and evaluate results
- General knowledge of nominals and minimums.
- Make recommendations after analysis of the data
- Perform specialized inspections with knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Function as a team lead when appropriate
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced inspectors
- Set up, conduct test, and calibrate equipment
- Work independently, supervise and support team members
- Ability to prepare and interpret reports and other documents in a timely, accurate manner
- Interface daily with client about work priorities and projects
- Perform other job related tasks as assigned by management
- Organize and report test results
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent, some college preferred
- NDT Level II VT & UTT. LPI and MPI a plus. At least 1 year of experience.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned NDT tasks and interpret results of inspections.
- Monitor, as well as train, assistants and Level I Technicians.
- Shop math and print reading skills
- Ability to use computers for data entry
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Ability to effectively communicate with other departments, and customers to solve problems
- Ability to learn and comply with all company policies and procedures
- Knowledge of NDT equipment.
- Excellent communication skills written and verbal
- Applicants must complete a drug screen and have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Exceptional safety and quality awareness.
Work Conditions
- Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
- May be required to travel to client locations and sites (up to 75%).
- Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds.
