Position Summary
Multi-certified API Inspector: 510/570
Responsibilities & Duties
- At the direction of client, perform visual and non-destructive examination of static and dynamic pressure retaining equipment in accordance with American Petroleum Institute (API) standard 510, 570 and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
- Submit to client technically accurate reports documenting equipment condition.
- Provide client with technical recommendations for the repair, re-rate, replacement, and/or alteration of process equipment, as required for safe operation within stated operating parameters for durations specified by client.
- Provide technical input to client as required for welding and metallurgical issues.
- Provide technical guidance on application of non-destructive examination techniques and procedures.
- Fully comply with all PMG Energy and client safe work practices and actively participate in all site safety initiatives.
Qualifications
- Possess the related API certification (510/570) with at least one year of related experience.
- API 510/570 is a plus with UTT, MT, PT certifications.
- Requires high school diploma or equivalent, technical school or college credits preferred.
- Must be proficient with MS Word and Excel and be able to write detailed inspection reports.
- Must have the ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
- Capable of climbing, working at elevations and working in confined spaces.
- Must be able to walk and climb to maneuver to access confined spaces and high reach areas.
- Must have sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to communicate effectively;
- Must have sufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodations, which permits the employee to conduct investigations.
- Must have sufficient manual dexterity, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to perform routine office duties.
- Experience working in direct communication with clients.
- Certification to American Petroleum Institute Standard 510, 570.
- In-depth, working knowledge of API 510, 570 and ASME Sections I, V, VII, IX, B31.3, B31.4.
- Minimum of one year experience working as a visual inspector

Education
